The inner ring of spherical roller bearings have two raceways, outer raceway is spherical,its curvature center is the bearing center. This type of bearings possesses self-aligning performance, allowing the misalignment of shafts, and can also be used under certain permanent misalignment.
These bearings are able to carry higher radial loads, as well as certain axial loads, but can’t carry pure axial loads. The osculation between rollers and raceways is high, and friction is higher than cylindrical roller bearings. Therefore, the limiting speed is lower.
This type of bearings is especially suitable to the heavy or vibrating load applications.
Type 20000C bearings have symmetrical spherical rollers and pressed steel cages, no ribs on inner rings, rollers are longer, capacity of carrying load are high, and rollers are guided by floating guide rings.
Type 20000CC bearings are the modified type on the basis of type 20000C, the friction between rollers and raceway is decreased, capacity of carrying load is enhanced.
Type 20000CA bearings adopt symmetrical spherical rollers and machined solid cages, they have floating guide rings and integral ribs on inner rings.
Type 20000TN1 bearings use symmetrical spherical rollers and nylon molded cages, no integral ribs and floating guide rings on inner rings, the cages are guided by rollers.
Type 20000CC, 20000CA and 20000TN1 bearings are developed in recent years and their internal design are optimized, should give priority to be used.
Spherical roller bearings are primarily used in the applications, such as rolling mills, paper-making, power transmitting equipments and ship mechanics.
